Life as a Plantation Student

After land clearing process we proceed our activity with land management. Land management is the process of managing the use and development of land resources. Determining the pH of soil Actually we need to know the exact pH soil of our crop before we apply the lime.So, we need to determine the pH soil in the laboratory. It's important to determine the pH soil because it will influnce the availability of essential nutrients. Each group need to take a two soil sample in different place which is the soil sample is topsoil. Topsoil is the upper and the outermost layer of soil using auger. After that, my teammates dry the soil sample under the sunlight about a week. My teammates used auger to take a topsoil Then we put it in the plastic bag After we took soil sample we will move to lab.            Assalammualaikum and have a nice day to anyone who read this blog. Actually i forgot to intro my blog because i am to busy with my schedule. First of all, i create this blog for one of my subject in semester 1 which is field work (FPA400) . As you know i took  degree in technology and plantation management course.            Actually for this subject we needed to plant crop from the earlier process of plantation to harvesting until selling the crops. Before i mentioned what crops i plant i want to share my experience about roll call. What is meaning roll call for plantation students? its means all of the plantation students need to get together in one place before start activity.         Now i want share about my experience before we plant a tree and build a plot, the first thing need to do is land clearing. What is land clearing? land clearing is the process of removing trees, stump, brush, stones and other obstacle from an area as  required to increase the size of the crop producing land base of an existing farm  or to provide land for a new farm operation. After that, the newly cleared land ready for cultivation, including liming.        My classmates and i did the land clearing on 12 August 2018. First of all, our supervisor and lectures give a briefing to us what to and briefing about land clearing. Before that, the equipment that we use for land clearing is hoe, pongkes, mini tool,wheelbarrow, knife and more. Before i forgot our land got clear by Diploma part 1 student or known as DPIM student.
