INTRODUCTION TO MY COURSE

           Assalammualaikum and have a nice day to anyone who read this blog. Actually i forgot to intro my blog because i am to busy with my schedule. First of all, i create this blog for one of my subject in semester 1 which is field work (FPA400) . As you know i took  degree in technology and plantation management course.


           Actually for this subject we needed to plant crop from the earlier process of plantation to harvesting until selling the crops. Before i mentioned what crops i plant i want to share my experience about roll call. What is meaning roll call for plantation students? its means all of the plantation students need to get together in one place before start activity. The roll call will start with read Yassin or Asmahul Husna and sing Negaraku song, Wawasan warga UiTM and most importly is planter's song. It continued with a speech from every part of students what they have done every week and finally greeting by lectures or dean. For your information this roll call started with 6.30 am every friday and start with some warming up and exercise.


         Then i want to share about our organisation in my classroom for this subject:

  1. Lectures
  2. Supervisors/ planters executive
  3. Kangani (KG)
  4. Treasurer
  5. Purchaser
  6. Caterer
  7. Storekeeper
  8. Chairman in every small group
Every part of my classmate invloved in that organisation.

        Now i want share about my experience before we plant a tree and build a plot, the first thing need to do is land clearing. What is land clearing? land clearing is the process of removing trees, stump, brush, stones and other obstacle from an area as  required to increase the size of the crop producing land base of an existing farm  or to provide land for a new farm operation. GERMINATE Zea mays SEED

After we have done with land preparing and applying mulcing its time for us to germinate seed. Every group need to choose one crops. After discuss my group decided to plant a sweet corn. Before we choose the plants we need to know how long the plants take to harvest because we have a short time to plant the crops and need to sell before our final exam. For sweet corn it can be harvest on 68 until 72 days. So, it suitable with our time before final exam. MAINTENANCE

Yeah! we continued again with the maintenance. After we have done with the planting the seed in the tray and removed it on the planting bed we need to took care the plants from any insect or anything that could damaged the baby Zea mays. Once a plantation has been established, the work should not be considered finished. It will be necessary, for example, to protect the plantation against weather, fire, insects and fungi, and animals. A variety of cultural treatments also may be required to meet the purpose of the plantation. So, the first action that we need to do is to remove the weed. The weed always around the the plants grow. That weeds will absorb the nutrient from the plant to grow. That causes the plants will stunted. For your information, sweet corn's leave already eat by some insect. It make the hole of the leaves.
